And if it's genuinely past what a handyman should touch — a load-bearing wall, an electrical panel, a gas line — I'll tell you that too, and hand you the licensed pro I'd call for my own house, before you've paid me a dollar for it.
That costs me the occasional extra fifty dollars, and I've made my peace with it. I'd rather do one job right and earn a customer for twenty years than pad one invoice and never hear from you again. Fixture and device changeouts, yes. Wiring runs and troubleshooting go to a licensed electrician or plumber — I'll tell you when that's the case and point you to the right person.
